Listen up, People of the Peninsula-This place is outstanding! Great scratch made food and very friendly service. Do keep in mind, this is Michoacán style Mexican food, and a bit different from other typical Mexican restaurants, but in a good way. Restaurant was very clean and quiet. First time in for lunch today, and will definitely be back. One of the better options we have here.

The tacos are fantastic. I had the Al pastor (pork) and they reminded me of tacos we had in Mexico. They are simple, but the tortillas are freshly made and the meat is seasoned perfectly. We chips with salsa and guacamole as well. The salsa and guacamole were a little bland for my taste, so I had to spice it up with a little hot sauce. Just beware that they don't serve alcohol.

Excellent food with great flavor. I got the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious. Even the chips and salsa were great. Also got flan to go and that too was excellent! Great service too! Cute little restaurant!

My husband and I enjoyed Food Yamilet for lunch. The decor and service is wonderful. The food is very flavorful, fresh, and made well. Try the Agua Fresca. The day we went it was watermelon with free refills. Great food. Highly recommend.

First impressions: This looks like the real deal. Homemade Mexican food from locals who came to the U.S. directly from Michoacán. The restaurant has simple, tasteful decor and an attractive ambience. Like Richard H. said in his review, most (cheesy) American Mexican food is not like the food you would get at a family-run restaurant in Mexico. Much of the cuisine in Mexico is regional. This is Michoacán style. I went back and had dinner here tonight. OMG. As I told the owner, "Muy rico." She got a big smile on her face. I had the special pozole which was chock full of carnitas and chicken in a savory broth with the traditional hominey. I had one each carnitas and suadero (tender roast beef) taco on homemade tortillas. The aqua fresca was a refreshing cucumber lime concoction--full of flavor but not too sweet. I took a slice of tres leches cake home for dessert. I was especially impressed with the homemade green and orange sauces that were served with my tacos. They were both distinctive and very good, but the green stuff is liquid gold in my book. Amazing flavor. They are still fine-tuning their business hours, so it's a good idea to call to confirm. Phone is (360) 777-3611. I added a photo of the posted hours as of 6/11/24. The owner is working to claim the business on Yelp and flesh out the details.

Most of the Mexican restaurants on the Pen serve what most US residents think of as Mexican food. Food Yamilet serves what I imagine Mexicans think of as Mexican food. It has many of the same dishes, without the shortcuts that customers normally tolerate. Almost everything (e.g. tortillas) are made in-house. They might be out of some items because they cannot open a can or defrost more. They have pride in their food and want to share it with you Herself had Suadero: very tender& rich and apparently uncommon. My carne asada tacos (because I'm predictable) were very good. Our friend had Albondigas soup and enjoyed it mightily The freaking beans and rice are noticeably better than average! The walls have little tchotchkes and dioramas and decorations (not too many) disclosure: we found out about this place because our neighbor works here
